ASPECTS OF MANAGERIAL DECISION-MAKING
INFORMATION PROVIDING

Nowadays
implementing of managerial decision-making information providing (MDMIP) is
widespread mode to supply decision-maker. But even having such information
providing a manager not always makes the best decision. To understand reasons of getting
erroneous decisions it is necessary to discover gist of informative providing.
One of most
widespread interpretation of MDMIP is data heading for decision-maker. On the
other hand the information providing is communication network [1] and from point of process
approach of management is a process of communication. The result of such
process is information awareness of decision-maker [1]. Let’s systematize these notions.
To choose
directions of consideration it is needed to use the speech acts theory which
separates four levels of speech act: illocution, locution, perlocution and proposition.
J. L. Austin and J. R. Searle, authors of speech acts theory, consider communication
as activity and speech act as its minimum unit. It is thought to be possible to
project these levels on MDMIP considering it as a complex form of communication
activity. Locution is activity in which signs spread. Illocution is expression
of form in which locution is carried out. Perlocution is effect of influence on
communicate state. Proposition is meaning content. Thus to our mind, locutionary
MDMIP is a process of communication, illocutionary it is organizational form of
formal communication, propositionally it is data which are contained in this
system, and perlocutionary it is information awareness of decision-maker
(person to whom action is directed).
Structure of the
informative providing as locution is defined by structure of channels of data
aggregation, organization and transfer; as illocution it is defined by
structure of competences of agents of MDMIP; as proposition it is defined by a
structure of managerial decision-making model; as perlocution it is defined by
structure of cognitive decision-maker’s model. Together these structures make
the structure of formal communication of MDMIP.
Thus, structure of
formal communication contains all aspects of structures of MDMIP notably to
characterize MDMIP is possible through its formal communication structure characterizing.
